Sporting director Sebastian Kehl was satisfied as he spoke about the first leg and the chances in Paris next Tuesday. He praised the compactness of the team.

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "We're delighted about the victory; not only the result but the manner of it too. We performed very, very strongly and gave away little in the first half. We had to ride out a period of pressure in the second half and also got slightly lucky in one or two moments, but you also need that against PSG in a semi-final. We defended very compactly as a collective and also created a lot of chances ourselves. We could've have scored a second goal. A big compliment for the way we worked in both directions. It's a good starting position for the second leg next week and it's also great that we were able to secure the fifth spot for Germany. We know it will be very heated in Paris and that PSG will try everything. They have the next league matchday off to recuperate. They will give everything – but you saw today that we believe in ourselves too and have the chance to win in Paris next week. To that end, we need a great performance, like today."
