Borussia Dortmund will face FC Augsburg at SIGNAL IDUNA PARK in their penultimate home game of the 2023/24 season on Saturday. The facts at a glance.

The scenario: Fifth versus eighth. Only three places but 18 points separate the two teams. FCA are still well in the race for a place in European competition, although they have lost three of their last four matches.

Home/away: BVB have only won around a half of their home matches to date (eight out of 15). FCA have lost just every second away game (eight out of 15) and occupy 10th place in the away table with 15 points (four wins and three draws).

Head-to-head record: BVB might have only ended up on the losing side in three of their 25 meetings to date, but FCA have always been a "tough nut to crack". After all, the Swabians have taken points in seven of their last 15 Bundesliga clashes with the Black & Yellows (two wins, five draws). But Dortmund have been faring well again recently: four of the last six meetings have ended in victory. Borussia have scored at least three goals in 13 of their 25 Bundesliga match-ups.

Statistics: The Black & Yellows have won only one of their last four league games (2-1 in Mönchengladbach on 13 April). FC Augsburg had catapulted themselves up from 14th place to seventh thanks to four consecutive wins between matchdays 23 and 26, but have since won only one of their five Bundesliga matches.

Biggest home win: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (3) and Marco Reus (2) scored the BVB goals in a 5-1 victory against FCA on 25 October 2015.
